Navy is the backbone of a nation!
Navy is considered as an elite
force for the protection of a nation that is surrounded by the
sea waters on any of its boundaries. Navy is one of the three
prime military forces of a nation. The main operations of the
navy are based on the naval warfare. Apart from sea, there are
lake and ocean combat operations too. These all come under the
naval warfare.
The operation of the navy is
carried through the surface ships, amphibious ships, submarines
and seaborne aviation. There is an extra support in the areas
of ancillary and communications. In the recent years, space
related operations are also included in the navy. The navy
follows a well defined strategy and it projects its forces
beyond the shores of the country. There are many shore
installations involved with the navy.
The navy is meant to defend
the country as well as its borders and has been around since
the early ages. In early days, the naval operations were
carried by the powerful ancient kingdoms of the world and their
prime goal was the quest of foreign lands and invasion of
enemies also became a goal of the navy. With the passage of
time, it acted as a protective cover to the nation from all
types of invasion that came from the international
waters.
Navy has the state of the art
infrastructure and facilities at its disposal and at times can
use the nuclear missiles to fight any nuclear deterrence from
the enemy. The specialized operations are carried from the
naval base or port. The naval base also houses the off-shore
crew. There are also many vessels equipped with the navy docks
and the repair work is always under the process.
While at the time of war, the naval forces construct many
temporary bases which are made keeping the geography of the
strategic locations in mind. This serves as an advantage for
keeping patrols. The nations who have strong naval bases have
an edge over their contemporaries in the area of naval warfare.
These days, navies of the world nations hold extreme
significance which may be seen in the various international
fleet reviews carried throughout the world.
